As always, we strive to improve facilities at Calvin; this summer is no exception. We are working on a number of physical changes that you will notice during the upcoming school year. The following are a few of those highlights.
- There are new swings on the elementary playground. Thanks to the Calvin Christian Service Group we have replaced the old swings with modern and safer swings. We invite you to take a look when you visit the elementary campus.
- We are moving forward with security cameras for the entire preschool through 12th grade facility. All the wiring will be installed before school starts and the cameras will be in place by the end of September. This will allow us to monitor the campus and give us the ability to review the video.
- Phase 2 of the high school hallway remodel is nearing completion. Again, thanks to funding assistance from the Calvin Christian Service Group, this project will finish the construction that began last summer. As part of the remodel, two old air conditioning units in the high school will be replaced.
- We are working on getting the entire K-12 campus upgraded with a robust wireless network that will cover the entire school. This will set us up for the implementation of the one-to-one computer program that begins implementation in the fall of 2014 with the junior high students. The new wireless network has been funded by a significant private donation designated for this purpose.
You will hear more about these and other improvements as the school year starts. We are grateful for funding sources and the ability to continue to meet the needs of our students.
