We take our partnership with your family and the churches our families attend very seriously. When you attend the various gatherings of the “Calvin Family,” you can’t help but witness and be enveloped into the delight of Christ-centered fellowship. Such delight is the heartbeat of Community Life at Calvin Christian School.
Grandparents & Special Friends Day
Of course gathering to celebrate accomplishments of our students, such as concerts, musicals and sports games, is our favorite way to celebrate Community Life. Here are some examples of other ways to enjoy intentional Community Life at Calvin:
Parent-Run Service/Booster Groups
Calvin Family Meetings: Monthly opportunity to interact with the administration team, get to know one another and address pertinent topics, from school vision to philosophy about homework.
Parent Symposiums: Annually we host opportunities for parents to hear from dynamic speakers who address topics of high interest. Past speakers have addressed the differences between boys and girls brains and wisdom with technology.
Special Annual Gatherings:
Fellowship Of Christ-Centered Unity and Service (or F.O.C.U.S.) Gatherings — this is a great time to get to know families in the CCS community, celebrate what God is doing in our midst, and learn about up-coming events and opportunities to serve.
Fellowship Dinner — this event usually takes place every other year. We enjoy a meal together and engage in a fun activity or game to enjoy laughter and down-time together. Playing together matters!
Pancake Breakfast & Fun-Run — this is an annual event on Labor Day which has become a tradition to launch the new school year.
Special Service Opportunities : The culminating phrase of our Mission statement concerns seeking a “life of Christ-centered service.” Although always an area to improve as part of our Christian faith-walk, we strive to create a culture of service both on campus, and out in our greater community of Escondido.
