Eligibility Requirements for Society Membership
for Calvin Parents and Supporters
In order to become a member of Society, you must meet the qualifications of at least one of the following groups:
1. Parent of a Current CCS Student:
You must be able to affirm the following:
- I believe that the Bible is the Word of God.
- My beliefs are consistent with the Apostles’ Creed, the Athanasian Creed, and the Nicene Creed.
- I attend a church which by belief and practice is consistent with the Apostles’ Creed, the Athanasian Creed, and the Nicene Creed.
- I agree with Article II of Calvin Christian School’s Constitution: “The Society and all instruction given in its school(s) is based on the infallible Word of God as expressed in the standards of the Reformed faith.”
**Note: “the standards of the Reformed faith” are the summaries of biblical teaching used in Reformed and Presbyterian churches to promote unity and understanding. They are the Heidelberg Catechism, Canons of Dort, Belgic Confession, Westminster Confession, and Westminster Larger and Shorter Catechisms. You do not need to be in full agreement with these standards of the Reformed faith to agree with Calvin’s use of them as helpful summaries of biblical truth to guide all instruction at Calvin.
2. Member of a Supporting Church:
- I am at least 18 years old and a professing member of either the Escondido United Reformed Church or Crossroads Christian Reformed Church (“Supporting Churches”).
- I agree with Article II of Calvin’s Constitution: “The Society and all instruction given in its school(s) is based on the infallible Word of God as expressed in the standards of the Reformed faith.
3. Supporter Who Attends a Confessionally Reformed Church:
- I am at least 18 years old and a professing member of a church which by doctrine and practice is in agreement with the standards of the Reformed Faith (that is, the Heidelberg Catechism, Canons of Dort, Belgic Confession and/or the Westminster Confession).
- I agree with Article II of Calvin’s Constitution: “The Society and all instruction given in its school(s) is based on the infallible Word of God as expressed in the standards of the Reformed faith.”
- Within the past year, I have donated to Calvin Christian School at least $100 or its equivalent in services rendered.
