Merry Christmas

By December 19, 2013December 14th, 2020Faith & Learning

As we approach Christmas I was tasked with writing a blog.  I love quotes and thought instead of trying to come up with a personal reflection I would share some of my favorite quotes from Christians who have reflected on Christmas.

"When Narnia was under the curse of the evil white witch, it was described as land where it was 'always winter, but never Christmas'.” ~ C.S. Lewis

“He was created of a mother whom He created. He was carried by hands that He formed. He cried in the manger in wordless infancy. He, the Word, without whom all human eloquence is mute.” ~Augustine

“You can never truly enjoy Christmas until you can look up into the Father’s face and tell him you have received his Christmas gift.” ~John R. Rice

“The Almighty appeared on earth as a helpless human baby, needing to be fed and changed and taught to talk like any other child. The more you think about it, the more staggering it gets. Nothing in fiction is so fantastic as this truth of the Incarnation.” ~J.I. Packer

“The greatest and most momentous fact which the history of the world records is the fact of Christ’s birth.” ~Charles H. Spurgeon

From your Calvin Family, have a blessed Christmas remembering God’s incredible gift to us.
