Calvin Christian's Thanksgiving Food Drive collected non-perishable food items for the Saturday Food Distribution ministry at Mision Vida Nueva. This weekly outreach takes place at Pioneer Elementary School and benefits a least 150 families. Many of these families have a very small income, if anything at all. Many times, these families have to make a choice to pay the water bill, SDGE bill or buy food. The food that Calvin Christian provided for the food drive will alleviate the stress of having to get food.
The food that Calvin Christian School donated was an extra special blessing because it was food that we aren’t normally able to provide. I am sure these families will enjoy it and be blessed by it, in addition to what they get every week.
